Silvana Valadez is a Mexican-Peruvian cinematographer and a proud member of Apertura. She holds a BFA in Filmmaking with an emphasis in Cinematography from the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles, CA. Silvana got her start as an assistant to cinematographer Carolina Costa, AMC.

She then moved to the famed Keslow Camera rental house as a service technician working alongside the industry’s top cinematographers.

Her upbringing around the continent —from Lima to Mexico City to Los Angeles— has given her a unique lens for art, culture and storytelling; reflected in her work. She focuses on telling human-driven stories, capturing genuine moments and images that always have a story behind them.

Currently, Silvana works as a cinematographer on narrative pieces, commercials, and music videos in Mexico City, Los Angeles and Barcelona.
